Found it this morning on Instagram and was going to make fun of it for being expensive until realized they were pineapple-inclusive
First unique “Hawaiian” in Munich, and one of the few we’ve come across in Europe so far, really exciting!
Crust
As expected of a New York style slice shop, reheated
About 70% of the characteristic crispiness. Could have been left in a little longer
Outer crust was like a focaccia in flavor and texture, some would go as far as to say fried dough
Sauce
Good amount
Fresh
Mozzarella
Nice
Ham
no ham!
Pineapple
Chili-infused, although we couldn’t really tell
We thought it was grilled. Was very thin, blending into the cheese
Nice and sweet
Too sparse
Salsa Verde
Slightly acidic, fresh, cilantro flavor
Tasted green
Nice!!
Pickled Red Onions
Crunchy
Great texture
Some sweetness and acidity
Pickled Jalapenos
Fairly spicy but not overpowering
Not too acidic
Additional Thoughts
Think they prepared a lot of the toppings in house (pineapple, salsa verde, jalapenos) which made everything taste very fresh
Spicy and sour were excellent and the primary flavors. Had too little of the sweetness and saltiness that is characteristic of a great Hawaiian pizza. This is at no fault to Kinky Slice as there is no indication they’re necessarily targeting a “Hawaiian”. Rather we may be bending the definition of a Hawaiian pizza by including it as such.
A little ham or pepperoni could have sent it to the 90s
